The funny part about this is I never had a problem in any version, but I always update. Thanks Fengtao and Ting , you guys are the best.

To coin a phrase...Ain't it the truth!
With the rare exception of a slower rip on a couple versions (and who cares...I don't), this has been my experience as well...
I just can't imagine better software or support...

This is due to operating system most of the time. Adding and removing programs especially other CD & DVD programs because they can cover up drives with upper & lower filters. Do a search on google or someone here has the links in their signature. There are some links in my signature that will help find the drives. I spent a lot of time searching when testing some pre releases.

Well, can anyone explain why CloneDVD2 recognizes the source drive and Fab
doesn't? (I'm not trying to be a P.I.T.A., but why is it that other programs recognizes the drives and Fab doesn't?) hmm...that's got to tell you something...

Are you saying that when you put a disc in your drive DVD Fab does not recognize that the disc is there? What drive is it that Fab does not recognize, I have 10 Opitical drives in my Thermaltake case and Fab recognizes all of them.

It should automaticly recognize the source if it is a disc, if it is a file you have to choose where it it on your Hdd .

You will have to browse to the disc or file.

I would delete the program and make sure you save your reg key. Run a reg cleaner and reinstall and try again. If this was the case we would be hearing more about it, you still have not told me what drives you have.

Well, before I installed this version, I had just finished reformatting so there was
no trace of any former versions. And I have run CC cleaner numerous times to clean any other garbage. Why can't anyone understand that this just may be a bug with the program? Look here.....

What do you mean.....I only have 2 drives on my computer

[D] DVDRW IDE1108 B430 (which is my source drive)
[E] SONY DVD RW DRU-820A 1.0c (which is my target drive)

Because typically what alan1476 has suggested works for this problem and I don't see how it would hurt to give it a go.

I haven't updated to 3.1.3.3B. I'm on 3.1.2.5B. The problem that I'm experiencing hasn't been fixed yet. I'm trying to backup my "Friends" DVDs, using "Generic/AVI. There are usually 5-6 ~25 min titles in each disc. I select all the appropriate titles, encoding method is HQ-2 Pass. I select generic.audiocopy (AC3/5) and a Fixed Bitrate of ~1250, which gives me files of ~300MB. Resolution is 576X432. Framerate "same as source" and finally for Subpicture I choose to export the files (en & sp). OK, the problem is that more often than not, after the first pass finishes, DVDFab just crashes without a warning or anything. Some other times, it just freezes. Often, it does one or two titles and crashes. Some times it doesn't do a thing. If I'm trying to do it directly from the DVD, the failure ratio is greater. It crashes less if I decrypt the DVD to the HD and work from there. As you can see, the problem is hard to trace or reproduce. I deinstalled DVD Decrypter after someone suggested this could bring up a conflict but it hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

Can anyone help me with a problem I have been having with my DVDFab Beta version? It keeps giving me "read error" and asks me if I want to abort, retry, etc. I have tried to uninstall and then reinstall. I'm not sure if it's going to give me an error now, but it sure is taking a very very long time to copy. Is there anything that I can do to maybe fix this problem because up until about a week ago, it worked wonderfully for me?????

Ok, I cleaned the dvd (it is brand new) and reset the dma. It's still giving me a read error. I am kind of frustrated. I guess that I should just say "ignore all" when I get this error? I "ignore all" and it proceeds, but it goes very very very slow. Any more suggestions??
