I understand. I don't like making any changes at all.
Maybe you can answer a question for me. I sort of understand some of this DMA stuff. I check it once in a while. I don't touch settings in there either. Everything seems to be OK. But I was woundering, is there a way to check and see if it has had to reset itself and if so can a person check to see how many times it has done so? The way I understand it is that it has a limit of 6 resets.

    Hi Ron

if it has had to reset itself
DMA does not reset by it's self, that has to be done by a user

check to see how many times it has done so
There is no log kept on the computer for how many times DMA has been reset

it is that it has a limit of 6 resets.
they was talking about how many times you get a read errors before windows will reset the drive back to PIO

    Hope this helps you

    Tim

Is there a need to check mark the booktype box when using a DVD+R disc if you plan on playing the disc in a +R compatible DVD player?
