It's a bank holiday on Monday too so we all get an extended break here.

5:25 am and can't sleep

guess I'll make some morning mud and pull my monthly maintenance and check for corrupt system files.

Yeah that's annoying, I woke up at 7:24am this morning even though it's a day off.

I tossed and turned a bit then eventually got up at 7:50am as I couldn't get back to sleep.

That's still a lie in for me though as our alarm normally goes off at 6:50am during the week.

Well got a new used toy to play with

A friend gave me his Toshiba laptop

With him having absolutely no sense on security I've been cleaning house but have decided to do a clean installation, course since it has Vista Home I will install Windows 7 Pro.

We have 2 Toshiba Laptops here at work along with others, The Toshiba's are holding up pretty good

Model : Satellite L505-S6951

The Acer we got has already died and it is a year newer

This is a Toshiba Satellite P205 model which is only showing as having a windows experience rating of only 3.6

Needless to say I'll have to work on increasing that rating after the system re-formating is complete and I have my security in place.

3.6 is low what was the bad point ? Ram

The RAM has a rating of 4.5 which is based on it only having 2 Gigs, the 3.5 rating is due to the graphics which I may or may not replace however I'm very sure the graphics driver is out dated.

Oh well it was a freebie so can't complain to much, gives me something new to tinker with anyway.

Howdy Y'all
My Vista will no longer do the WEI .
I think it is because I have WMC disabled.
I'm not trying to fix it as most say it is crap anyway.

Even though I never use WMC I didn't disable it, course I did however stopped it from starting at Windows startup by setting it to 'Manual' within services.
