I can scroll down to my computer I get nothing in c:\users at all There is no disk in drive. Most of my programs are back up on my external drive. Will this help

At the very least you should have Default and Public

Did you click on Apply as cholla showed you in his pictures ?

If Windows Vista is loaded on your computer then it has to have users.

Double Click on c:\ users and see what happens

Try rebooting 1 more time

Vista has a reputation for not handling Icons properly,especially if you have to many of them.

That was one of the many reason's why people did not like Vista and either went back to XP or got Win 7 when it came out.

I want to thank you and everyone again for your expertise. You guys really know your computers. I am getting a very good education from all this. I think I will pick up Windows 7 Upgrade. What would you recommend. Again, thanks for all your help.

I recommend staying clear of the home version of Win 7, you will find your account even as administrator will have unwanted limitations

Agreed.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, and as much as I loved XP (and was VERY reluctant to upgrade), 7 Ultimate is THE BOMB!! Well worth the $$$.

I would have to agree with SJ and rosaiorrose9

Home is limited compared to Pro or the Ultimate versions.

But if you are going to upgrade it would be a waste if you did not do a complete clean install.That means wiping the drive completely and starting from scratch.
