So how about using this threads as a Chat Room to keep other threads on topic and at the same time giving us a place to talk with each other on WHAT EVER !!

Right on Tim, myself I thought the other thread was dead and over because it didn't have anything to do with FAB, was another software problem I thought. So I think thats why we had our little off topic chats but this is better

Well you know Alan is right and I think this way other threads will stay on topic even if they do not have anything to do with DVDFab, other members are like Mike said just looking for help.
SOOO WELCOME to the DVDFab Chat room

Hey maybe this is a good time or place to ask, does any of you guys or gals know what things you do or can change in MMC (Microsoft Managment Console) you know like tips.
I know you can

browse the tree on the left to search the following:
Computer Configuration --> Administrative templates --> System.
Search for Turn off Autoplay. Right click and select Properties and change this option in Enabled.
and do the same thing in User congifuration --> Administrative templates --> System

LIST what you know

I may of had the same problem as the I Robot person except with the movie The Patroit W/Mel Gibson. I'll wait and see when they get back with more info.

Hay, this chat works for me.

PS, Sorry but I've no idea what the heck you are talking about with the MMC stuff.
I'll watch and listen. Maybe learn a thing or two.

Rom

It's RON. You would think that with me using only 3 or 4 fingers, I could at least hit the right keys.

Yah Alan, thank you and don't be a stranger.

Thanks Alan
Figured it is better to talk and get to know fellow members this way rather then in other threads off topic
And we will keep within forum guidelines.

Tim
PS...And don't be a stranger either

Yah, they keep getting tangled up with my toes.
I wish these message boxes had a spill check option. I have to keep using my AOL E-mail write box to check my spelling so that no one can see just how stupid I really am.

Personally, I'm uncomfortable changing settings in the Group Policy Editor. I prefer to use "Tweak UI" for setting things like Autoplay.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

If you're not familiar with Microsoft Power Toys, another one I think is really neat is "Open Command Window Here". It's a must have for anyone who uses DOS commands.

For that matter, getting direct to the point, here's the registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom]
Value Name: Autorun
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0=disable, 1=enable)

Hi folks, Tim I just wanted to say, a fantastic idea. I just got on and saw the thread. And to you alan, Thank You. It's very kind of you and will hopefully avert any future off topics, sorry, I'm guilty too. You were talking about toys, you all probably know about this program I found, it's called: LtnRPC. I downloaded it but not sure if it's, you know safe ? Is it a good thing to do to your drive ? I mean, living here in Arkansas, I don't get many multi region DVD's running past my door ya'll know, LOL. So is there any advantages to using the program ? Also, Paul, with you being on a road trip and all, I guess it'll be awhile till you figure out that question I asked you about ripping the audio off the Bowie DVD? Take care and have fun.And to you Fred, thanks for the Power Toys thread, I bookmarked it for furture parusing,[pulled that from the back of my skull,LOL]. Boy, I'm really going to like this. It's fun to sit around the fire and swap infro. Thanks again alan and CD Freaks for being available to us all. ~ Mike

And Ron you think you have it bad, I'm a two fingered typer too and I cut one off. They put it back on thank goodness, I'm a meat cutter so I need it for pointing purposes, But it's REALLY hard to do this ya know! Later ~ Mike

Hi Mike
I was checking on that program you said, the LtnRPC sounds like it would be good program BUT I myself would find no purpose or use for it U.S.A region 1 is the only ones I ever get I never even run into other region DVD's and being in Arkansas you are not going to use up memory on your HD for something you may not need are you
And you are right about this thread, I think using this thread to talk about this and that or what ever there will be many topics discussed that other members did not know and will learn a few thing and at the same time get to know the other members and have fun at it at the same time.
Also about the thread being a sticky I guess that would be up to Alan OH ALAN LOL.
Well duty calls time to check out the forums for those who need help

Tim
