dvd fab and liteon bluray rom?

i have a external blu ray rom connected via usb to my computer it is g drive.. dvd fab will not recognize the drive for blu ray or even standard dvd....
will dvd fab work with my new liteon blu ray rom?

Which DVDFab product do you have? the paid version or the free version ?
if the paid version do you have a registration for the BluRay option ?
or are you using the 30 day trial ?
also have you checked to make sure the firmware is to date ?
another thing are you just going to rip the BluRay title to your HDD and watch it from there ? because your BluRay Rom js not a burner.

DVDFab HD Decrypter is a ripper for Standard DVD's only in order to rip or backup BluRay requires the paid version of BluRay option.

In addition to SJ questions, could you please provide the the manufacturer and model of your BD rom.

The manufacturer is liteon so just a model is needed

Here are two firmware updates for the liteon model you have, you need to go into device manager to verify which drive you have exactly,is it the 401S RAM, or just the 401S

If you don't have the "My Computer" icon on your desktop,
click on the Start button, go to my computer..> right click on my computer...> go to the bottom to properties...> left click on properties...> go to the hardware tab...> open hardware tab...> go to device manager ..> open device manager...> find DVD/CD- ROM drives...if you have more than one drive there will be + symbol click on that to open, other wise right on the one drive there..> go to properties...> left click...>under general tab it will say what the drive is.

To check your firmware click on the details tab, and it will display the driver, and on the far right of that will be the current firmware installed.
match it to the ones I sent to see if they are the same, if not, update your firmware as what I sent are the most current.

actually i went to lite on web site and went to firmware for europe english and they have a newer ver it is 10/05/2009 ver america 03/24/2008...will it be ok to use the one in europe?

thanks but when i try to download liteon must have removed them because they say there is no file... o well thanks anyways

That is odd, OK try this, Google liteonfirmware and go to the support tab, it looks to me like they want you to register with them, before they will grant you access to any updates, I don't recall ever having to do that before, with any of my hardware, but then again I have never owned a liteon, so try the reg. method and hopefully you can get the most recent update.
