DVD to Disney Mix Max

I am trying to rip one of my DVDs to my daughters Mix Max that she received for Chrismas. I have used several different rippers but none worked. It keeps saying format not valid.

The requirements for this device are as follows: Video: WMV9 (simple profile, 220 X 176 resolution, 30fps, 384 kbps max) + WMA9 ( sample rate of 8-48 kHz)

I am very willing to purchase the software but want to see that it works first. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: DVD to Disney Mix Max

welcome to cdfreaks,

you can use either the zune or xbox 360 options. with a resolution of 220 x 176 you need to get an aspect ratio close to 1.25 but still stay close on the resolution. this you will probably just have to experiment to see what looks the best for you. framerate of 30 fps. audio bitrate of 64 kbps. you may need to adjust the audio volume, again something to experiment with. do you have an expansion 2gb sd card? if not then choose fixed file size and adjust for 512 mb file size. if you have an sd card then adjust fixed file size to 2048 mb.

there is a guide available here:

with the mobile settings available here:

I have tried what you have said here with no luck. I do appreciate your help. After I rip it according to your instructions and try to play it on the mix max, it just says file not supported. Any other ideas??

Re: DVD to Disney Mix Max

I too have been trying this. My search has found the following threads. I haven't had any luck yet but will keep working on it.

I bought my 7 year old daughter a mix stick in July for her birthday. Now she has to have a Mix Max! After spending some time playing with the Mix Max I am able to convert our existing DVDs into the correct format. I also purchased a 2 gig memory stick. So far I have stored 4 movies, 40 pictures, 30 songs and still have roughly 1 gig left between the internal memory and the stick. If Disney would have added a didgital camera to this thing it would be absolutely perfect. Now for how to convert files. Before you can use the Windows Media Encoder you have to rip the DVD to a readable form. I suggest using the software at

http://www.godownload.org/ImtooDVDTOPocket.htm

After you have ripped the DVD use the Windows Media Encoder.

Feel free to e-mail if you need help. Good luck."

Best of luck. If you find an easier way please let me know.

Re: DVD to Disney Mix Max

I stumbled across a program, Magic DVD Ripper http://www.magicdvdripper.com/ that works and is easy to use. Pop in the DVD, open the program and click on the convert tab. There is a drop down menu to choose what type of format you want to convert to, and one of the choices is "Disney Mix-Max". Hit the start button and you're done. They have a trial version you can download to try it out. I ended up buying it since my daughter has a ton of movies she wants converted, and this makes it sooooo much easier than the multi step way I was doing it before.
