Convert DVD to MP4 with Chapters

DVDFab / DVD Region+CSS Free Discuss, Convert DVD to MP4 with Chapters at Movie copy software forum; I would like to convert DVDs to MP4 for my PSP. But I would like to add chapters. I haven't been able to get DVDFab Platinum to do this. I have Googled MP4, and I know that it does support chapters, but how do you get DVDfab Platinum to do

Currently, you can't as the DVD Fab MP4 encoding does not support chapters. That is not to say that the developers will not add chapters as a feature in future.

At the moment you will need to use something like Nero Recode which does.

That is a real shame that DVDFab doesn't support MP4 chapters.

And I haven't used Nero Recode since Nero 7. I had too many problems with it.

Thanks for your reply troy512.

I have since tried it with v4.0.3.0, and unfortunately it still doesn't support chapters. It will split files into separate files at each chapter, but not include chapters in the MP4.

I read in another thread that Nero can do it. Would that be Nero Recode?

Yes and Nero also has different profiles that you can try out. In fact, Nero can encode 2 x Audio Tracks & 2 x subtitle tracks internally into the file.

The Nero Digital encodes that I have play fine on my Sigma 8620 chipset based Network Media Players, Nero Showtime and Windows Media Player once you install the correct codecs.

It appears that Nero Recode is the only good option at present.

Unfortunately, since Nero 7, I have had a few problems with it.
