Hello, I am having a problem with DVDFAB new version 5.2.5.0. I can download it ok and can install the code key ok, but I can't open the program. I am using Windows XP. I have tried turning off all of my security programs, and I have done a clean uninstall before I reinstall it but still can't opening the dvdfab program. I can go back and use my older version 5.2.3.2 without any trouble. Any suggestions out there. Thanks.

Hello stupido
Welcome to CD Freaks
Not sure what you are trying to say
are you saying that you was using version 5232 and it works and is also registered ? if so you shouldn't have to re-enter the registration key.

Thanks for your answer. I have had to re-enter my code everytime I upgrade to a newer version. That is not my problem as I cannot open the new version up after it is downloaded and the registration key is accepted. I have tried to open it using my icon and I have tried to open it by going to where it is listed in my programs and open it that way. Neither works, it seems like that my computer does not reconize the new verison.

Like I said you shouldn't have to re-enter the registration key once it is registered the first time, are you entering it manually ? if so just use the registration key that was sent to you as an attachment all you have to do is double click on it.

If you are running Vista home prem then you may have to make a change on the compatibility tab, right click on the DVDFab icon located on the desktop and select "Properties" and then click on the compatibility tab and at the very bottom place a check next to "Run this program as an administrator"

I know that DVDFAB states that if I install a new version over my old version that I will not have to re-enter my code, but that is not what happens in my case. I get a pop up page that says to inter my password. If I close it out and try to open the DVD program, I get the same pop up page. I then go to to MY DVD Patch that I have stored in my documents and click on it twice. Then I inter my name and hit patch and it states "DONE". As in any prior versions that I have downloaded the program opens up when I hit the icon on my screen. Now when I hit the icon on my screen there is nothing happening. I do not get the pop up page nor I get the program to open. I stated in my original question that I have Windows XP. I know that you stated that I shouldn't have to re-enter I code anytime, but I have up-graded to a newer version about four times in the past and each time I had to use my DVD Key Patch again to get it to work. I purchased a "never expire" program so that this verison should work.

The process you have just described is NOT the normal procedure for DVDFab, it does not ask for your name and it does not use a patch...it seems you are using a HACK version...Thus I will no longer give any help to you.

Have a nice day

Thanks for your output. I didn't realize that I had a hack version. I have corrected the problem by getting a registered version from DVDFAB. Thanks again for your help and comments.
