The VSO software which is DVDFab's defuat burn engine has known issues with the verify feature, however if you with you can set DVDFab to use ImgBurn as the burn engine which you will find a much better burn engine.

Look below in my signature on how to setup DVDFab to use ImgBurn

Please note my B O L D hilite.

Is your checking the disc manually not also a form of verification?

Many here feel the program's verification is a useless process...it doesn't catch things like picture pixellation, picture and audio freezes, etc. This sort of thing you'll find by actually watching the backup, and its cause is usually cheap media.

If you M U S T have program verification of your backup follow Stormjumper's advice and install Imgburn and configure it per his guide.

You'll be better off with Imgburn anyways, as it's a better burner than the VSO one...more configurable, and better error reporting.

StormJumper,

Thanks for the help! I installed ImgBurn and everything appears to be working fine except that I don't know how to handle the "Create Layer Break Position" when that comes up.

I've attached a jpg of the ImgBurn screen. Which would you select and why?

Thanks again!

If you want to set ImgBurn as the burn engine in DVDFab go into common settings->"Write" select ImgBurn in the dropdown window, also set the write speed to "Recommend" you will need ImgBurn installed and do the following...

Open ImgBurn and click on "Tools" located on the menu bar and select "Settings"
click on the "Build" tab and on
Page #1 make sure there is a check mark in the box next to "Check 'Close Program' "
Page #2 make sure there is a check mark in the following boxes..
1)..Don't Prompt Image Details
2)..Don't Prompt VIDEO_TS Content
3)..Don't Prompt Volume Label
any other boxes can stay as they are.

If you wish to use the verify feature make sure the feature is not selected within DVDFab's common settings-> "Write" and
on the write tab in ImgBurn's settings make sure the verify check box is selected located on page #1

To set the write/burn speed do the following
Put a blank disc into the drive/burner, with ImgBurn open make sure your drive is selected in the target window..(lower left side)
Now on the right hand side click on the "Device" tab, now on the very bottom right you'll see three buttons click on the top button to open the write speed settings page.
On the lower left side under "Settings" you will see a window next to "Disc ID" which will contain the MID(Media ID) of the blank disc that you have in your drive/burner, just below that window is where you can set the burn speed for that particular MID once you enter the write speed click on the "ADD"...NOTE..each time you buy a new spindle of media you should check the MID because it can change even when using the same brand name.
the other dropdown window below is for setting a particular drive/burner if you have more then one and one of them has better results with that MID at a different write speed

When using DVD9(double layer) media you can either remove or leave the original layer break, however it is best to leave the original layer break make sure that in common settings-> "Protection" you have the box un-checked.
Removing the original layer break in most cases if not always results in the stars showing up as average and/or good, however leaving the original layer break will always give you stars that fall into the Very good to the excellent range.
Of course excellent being the best would be the better choice, when making your selection try choosing one that does not contain a N/A and a NO in the SPLIP location.

Based on the screen-shot you sent in, as far as Imgburn is concerned, any of the four possibles are equally good (bad). Flip a coin.

If you look below in my signature you will see a guide called "Setup" which has info on how to set the burn speed within ImgBurn and the setting in DVDFab's common settings-> write

OC

Personally, I'd do exactly as OC suggests...flip a coin.
I have yet to see Img create a "bad" LB.

If you wish, you can preview the LB.
Simply select one of the locations and click on Preview Selected Cell .
