New to the site..

just got this Philips HDD DVD Recorder for $2 (TWO) at a garage sale...

but.
No Remote and disc is stuck .. Not sure of the model as well..it has a black front and silver body. has USB direct in front and back it is written DVD Recorder 22F8
any ideas ..

would be nice to record programs from TV when I am work...
should I get a remote .. open the unit etc.. or is it a waste of time...

It may be possible that this is a commercial security system recorder, the type in use with security cameras.
