Hello I have split a DVD9 in to 2 DVD5s preserving all the Menus in both the discs. The problem is I need to do the following: 1. Start the 2nd disc from the main Movie (split title) which at present is starting at the menu at the 2nd disc. 2. As the movie completes, I would like the Menu in the Disc to be displayed. I am rather a newbie when it comes to editing the DVD commands and really have no clear idea about the different terminologies like VMG...etc. So please help me out. ![]() Thank you

1. Each DVD is authored differently so there's no one way to show you that works 100% reliably. However, you can use PgcEdit's macro Jump to PGC upon DVD feature to jump to the split title immediately. This method is 100% foolproof. Guide: http://www.digital-digest.com/~blutach/Jump2PGC/Jump2PGC_guide.html Or if you have DvdFab Platinum, use the Split or Customize Split option and select the option to jump to the split title directly. Note that this method does not always work depending on how the dvd is authored. Alternatively, in DvdReMake Pro, First Play PGC, Pre Commands pane, change the Jump command to "Jump VMG Title X", where X refers to the split title. Look at VMG Titles pane on the right to see which title the movie resides in. Note that this method does not always work. 2. Doesn't it return to the menu automatically when the movie finishes? If the original does this, then splitting it will not affect the navigation.

Unfortunately, this requires knowledge of VM commands and explaining in details on how to do it is not easy, but I can summarize. You need to start tracing from the beginning, taking note of register changes, till you reach the main menu. Now since you want to start the movie right away from first play, the Play button command in the main menu will direct you to the movie. Again take note of the register changes. Now the hard part is to know which registers do what and which need to change to the final value by evaluating from First Play. Sometimes these registers are in the VMG PGC. Some are temporary registers that you can ignore (of course the program is not going to know that, only human evaluation can determine it). Finally change the Jump command to jump to the movie title. The whole purpose of taking note of register changes and modifying accordingly is to have the same state or condition as if you manually press Play from the main menu. Sad to say, both DvdFab and AnyDVD do not apply this approach. That's why sometimes the function doesn't work. Try my first suggestion and report back, before we go any further.

![]() Yes, this process worked, and as a first timer I could complete it after 3-4 tries, so that means the process has been really easy. I have tested the result in KMPlayer and it is starting from the main title and after completing going back to the Menu's Extras page. A little off topic: curiously, VLC media player is still starting the Movie from title menu when I drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder in it :?:...I have no idea why. Thanks again |

Hello toaddub I did not notice, there is a weird problem, the last chapter of the main movie is getting repeated. ![]() It is chapter 39, and I have checked the KMPlayer, there are 40 chapters and 39 and 40 are the same chapters. So after 39 is completed, it is repeated again as chapter 40. How could this be resolved? Please help.

Check in the Titles pane that chap 39 and 40 refer to the same program or not. Also, go to the VTS domain, Domain Content pane, scroll through the list of blocks all the way to the end to see if there are 2 blocks of the same picture. If so, go to the Programs pane and delete the last block and the corresponding referenced chapter in the Titles pane. Any red items appearing as a result of delete you can delete that item as well. btw, could chapter 40 be a blank block/cell? Often the last block of the movie is blank.

Hello toaddub I think I have figured it out. The trouble was caused by FixVTS. As I ran the VIDEO_TS folder through it, it is putting the chapter 39 in chapter 40 which supposed to be blank. But it is not showing up in the programs, where I can see the clips. Thank you for your support

The best would be to download the Remake manual, than open Quick Start/Getting to know user Interface. You will see PGC view. There is your Title. Go to block 40 and hide it. Just make sure there is no cell command as under normal circumstances it should not repeat. At the end of the Title it usualy go back to main menu. That should be in Post command of that title PGC.
