QSI SDW-082K (SDVD8441) replace for qsi UBW-242 (UCB5231)

hello!
I have notebook prestigio nobile 157 with combo unit cd-rw/dvd qsi UBW-242 (UCB5231) and it is not working any more. When i put cd or dvd onside it does not want to start reading...anyway i would like to buy dvdRW unit.
Is QSI SDW-082K (SDVD8441) or any other QSI unit only replacement for my notebook?

What are the core things i have to consider when i am buying new dvdRW unit for my notebook.

The most important thing is to find a unit that fits your bay; I use a AOpen laptop with a personalised front-face of the tray and I cannot use most of the units; I had a QSI 082 unit that was replaced under warranty by a AOpen 8424 unit that fits the opening, any other unit leading to improper ejecting tray. After checking this issue you will have to see what are your needs, do you need DL burning o just +R/W is enough; moreover if you want to check the quality of the recorded discs you should look for a unit that is supported by CDSpeed or other scan-checking utility. The best way to find a proper unit is to take your laptop to the store where you see a convenient unit and ask the personnel to mount it; if it fits you buy, if it does not you obviously refuse.
