I had problems before until I found the DVD It likes, Verbatim 8x

But i stil have problems I can record 1 dvd ok and 6 failed so I would like to know what shoul I do without throuwing it away

Update the firmware, where?

I don´t know how Toshiba can sell a mashine with this kind of burner

I wrote to them but no answer

ok if there is no solution how can I do to change the drive, to buy a new one

is it possible, can i change the drive by myself

i´ll never buy a toshiba Computer again

I would suggest an slimtype drive from Pioneer, Nec or TSST/Toshiba.

Hi
I am new to this forum and to this form of communiction. I am on a quest to find out why the door to my DVD player has decided not to open nor will the light go on. It is a Slimtype Combo SOSC-2483k
Can anyone direct me to somewhere to get a better understanding of my issue and potentially a solution.

Have you tried the emergency hole?
If you have misflashed the firmware, maybe mtkflash or similar apps can help you.

Since Matshita UJ-831s is not a well know Burner and if it's over 2 years old it would be a waste of time in doing anything to it. Anything in the market now it's over hundred times better, just go and grab one.

yes but it´s incredible how toshiba can sell a professional computer, as they say, with such a terrible drive and witout any support

someone told me to buy a slim drive from pioneer or nec...

what´s going to happen?

I´ll never buy a Toshiba Computer again and tell the people I know not o buy it,

if all of said something they are gonna think about it

if I buy a new one, is it easy to change it on my laptop Toshiba Tecra A4?

or I have to send it to someone specialized in it?

Check out the Lappys offered, 90% of them come with crappy matshita drives.
If there are no OEM firmware updates, it is not always the OEMs fault...

I had the same problem with mine. I cleaned the optical lens and so far it has been working fine.
