I SEE IT THE DRIVE IN THE "MY COMPUTER"
BUT IT SAY'S IT'S A CD ROM ...

I Cant Find The Specs Anywhere .... (for Pacific Digital)
How Can I Find Out What Kind Of Drive It Is ?
My Xp Has Elected Toshiba Tu35 For Firmware ....

ok, but there are no new nero updates, and the other problem is the firmware for this type of cd/dvd-rw isn't listed on the PACIFIC DIGITAL SITE

the firmware can be right ... it's say's it's a Toshiba TU35..

Install the USB drivers again. I would try it at least. See the link in my previous post.

windows didnt see a driver in the directed file .. which was the files dl'd form you link ...
