Hi, im new here but can shed some light on what to look for on the quality scan as i love to do them myself.

The perfect scan would be a nice level graph no PI FAILURE spikes in the LOWER graph and if there are any its ideal to have them very small spikes so they dont interfeer with the playback of the dvd. The PI ERRORS (top graph in blue) will always be present but are not as influiencive apon playback as the PI FAILURES in my experiences. All the scans show in this post are of very good quality in my opinon.
