Best Burner for DVD+R DL

if look at the scans chief-techie (Pioneer DVR-115D f/w 1.13 MKM003 @6, PIF = 265) and r_saotome (Pioneer DVR-115D f/w 1.18 MKM001 @4 PIF=441-631), it shows that they have less PIF 1000

p.s. what is the difference between 115 to 116 and 215 of the 216 model Pioneer ?

115 and 116 are Ide drives and the 215 and 216 are sata drives.

Hold it, BURP, excuse me, but Verbatim is about the worst media company ever. Bad media all the way back to 5 and a quarter inch floppy disks.

In every package of 10 Verbatim 5 1/4 or 3 1/2" floppies, 5 are unusable medium, bad sector 0 or some other physical error.

I don't know who Verbatim gets their medium from, but it is among the worst ever made.

Regarding Verbatim Disc Media, out of a 50-disk spool I have had as many as 12 to 15 disks unusable. With DVD+/-R, I have had exactly half of a 50 disk spool burn me coasters instead of DVDs... These were Data AND Video coasters.

And My system does not burn coasters, my method is pretty good for the last 5 years, I had some problems when I used to own a Sony single l;ayer burner, but I have not had any problems with 2 Lite-Ons, an LG and an Aopen except that the Aopen decided to refuse to eject so I had to toss it.

The only Medium that is worse than Verbatim is "Best Quality" that they sell at Frye's- That is poo.

I have had my best quality with Memorex, but for longevity I try to find Sony, cos the disks are a bit thicker.

I just have a hard time finding Sony Dual Layer Media here locally, cos I don't know if I want to trust buying it Online and risk the disks being damaged in transport.

Vertabatim... FEH! Try Memorex, but print up a paper label for protection.

Memorex also makes a printable surface medium, and those are thicker as well.

(The verbatim disks I have used have all been given to me by well-wishers who though buying me a pack of blank floppies, CDs, or DVDs was being helpful- I never buy the things myself, even if I need to burn a project and Verbatim are the last medium on the shelves... I go elsewhere if that is the case)

Just try a better medium, I can burn full speed dual layer with the Memorex and I have no problems. Also, use a burning program that checks the surface by comparing with an MD5 checksum.

Well I am normally a giver, not a taker, but I will reluctantly accept all the crappy Verbatim media that you have. I will take one for the team, just to make sure that nobody else has to live with or use this crap media. Feel sorry for my ODDs, they do not know what I am about to feed them.
