| I have this DVD RW player for a couple of years and have had no problems recording and/or playing DVDs. Last night I recorded a show from Tivo to the DVD, but I did not finalize it. Then my wife got up in the morning, ejected the disc and then tried to play a movie for the kids. After that the machine will not recognize and DVD that is inserted. I called panasonic and they said this is a common problem and I have to send it in and pay $130 to get it fixed! Does anyone know how I can fix this myself at home? I'm not an electronics engineer, but I'm also not an idiot and know how to follow instructions. Any help is greatly appreciated... even if the answer is go buy another machine because it is hopeless. |

| Sounds like your ES45 may need the DVD Drive's rubber hub to be cleaned, a fifteen minute job requiring no special skills: http://club.cdfreaks.com/f106/fixing...t-help-210507/ Be sure to position the roller/slider at the rear of the disc tray to the left corner before securing the drive lid. |

| I did clean the rubber gasket thing and the rest of the tray which was moderately dirty, but that did not fix the problem. Thanks for trying. |
