Unfortunately, there is no way to do that because of the limitations of all analog CATV tuners. In fact, you cannot program a channel number higher than 125 even manually. Most of the higher cable channels are scrambled, requiring the use of a separate cable box anyway. A "181-channel" cable-ready tuner means 181 total channels, but not all 181 can be accessed in the same mode because 56 of those channels are UHF channels that cable does not use at all (the broadcast UHF channels are rebroadcast onto unused CATV channels, in this case), leaving a maximum of 125 channels available for CATV use.

I do have a cable box which allows for channels over 200 which I can view.
If the recorder has an analogue tuner which seems to be the limiting factor ,are there digital tuner type recorders available from Panasonic?

Remember "Most of the higher cable channels are scrambled, requiring the use of a separate cable box anyway." My LG RC797T only picks up a few more channels than my ES15. So I end up using my cable box and not the digital tuner.
