Samsung Writer Discuss, samsung tsst corp TS-L532A slim burner at CD and DVD Writers forum; I have yet to find a single upgrade for the firmware for mine....and on top of that, mine does not burn dual layer even though its a TSST L532A...

I've just flash my dvd burner to TI94 ~
It is more worst that the TI51
With TI51, it can still use 8X to burn at Ritek GO5
But after i flash to TI94, it only allow to burn at 4X with GO5.

Anyone got the TI51 ? could you please send it to my e-mail pls.

I've got TS-L532A (SD-R6472 inside).
I would like to ask what is the newer fw, the TR51 or TU51, anyway, what's the differnce.

So what is the newest fw for my writer, does anybody know?

How can one dvd recorder read discs perfectly, and record RW discs good also, but not record DVD+ or -R mediums well?

I also see the concentric cycles on medium, perhaps turning off some advanced burner's services will help.

Also which burning software gives good results?

i use discjuggler and nero

my drive with the TI50 firmware reads and burns fine with great quality but it only burns at the fastest speed of 4X

I tried burning my discs with NERO 6.6.0.18, and my firmware is TI51, can somebody please send me original TI51 firmware for primary master device, so I can try testing other firmwares, and flash TI51 back before I bring my burner back to the seller because I have a warranty, and will ask to give me another type of device instead of this garbage.

Please, can I extract mp3 from cd audio COPY CONTROLLED with TS 532?
I use Nero 6, CDex, audiograbe, EAC, isobuster, but nothing...my TS 532 goes to butterflies!!!

You cannot extract mp3 from an AUDIO CD, but maybe CDDA audio & convert it then to mp3.
Use Nero Drivespeed, select a very slow speed and try...

hi,

finally solved my problems with TS-L532A - bought NEC ND-6650A. No problems any more. Even with DL the quality is the same as with ND-3540 on my desktop. Bye-bye Samsung forever

"Kinda normal" with slimtype burners, they are more picky and slower than half-height drives under nromal circumstances.

Hi!
Ok Chef, I have translate badly, my english is so and so....
However, is impossible to copy the audio cd Coldplay with TSST 532 and Nero 6; in fact the cd is copy controlled (EMI).
So,for example, with Nero burning rom, I see audio tracks in the management window rows, but i can't move audio tracks to to the copy window.
With other programs, or I obtain reading errors or the TSST turns to the infinite.
I can copy that cd with my old pc (1999) with BCE drive CD ROM 4x4x32!!!
Why no with TSST??

Hi,

happily it was possible to flash back to my previous TI94 FW with DL support. There isn´t much happiness about it though cause the drive is still the same peace of crap as it was designed by Toshiba-Samsung originally. Both of the companies have never produced a single decent ODD - at least I´ve never seen one and I can say that I´ve seen them a lot

Now that you mention X&Y, it makes sense.
Maybe have a look into the softwares section, under CloneCD or similar.

That firmware is newer than my drive which I only bought a few months ago. My drive's firmware is dated 9/21/2004

It can read and burn DVD+R DL though and I use AnyDVD to make it region free.
