From a previous post of yours, if I remember correct, your mcc discs are not Verbatim branded. I strongly recommend them, as they are far better than the rest mcc according to my results with a BenQ 1650. You can get them for 7,5€ at the shops in Konstantinou Paleologou street.
On the other hand I think that the blue T02 from diskimpex you 'll get will reverse your opinion about the 203

Thats some kind of bug in newer CD-DVD Speed versions. You can use the older 4.0.7.2. without Jittertest, that works or KProbe instead.

@talos
So I will talk to you in English sorry. Everyone must understand what we are talking about. My MCC media unfortunately ARE Verbatim.
Even if TY will reverse my opinion (and that's because they are excellent media)that doesn't mean that a drive is good because it burns good some excellent media.
I am in search of a real good drive that I can't find and I will keep my Litey for scanning.
P.S> Same media were burning excellent with my previous rig and IDE LG22L as well excellent with the 20A1P.

Hi
@ sverkalo,
So much for Lite-On being the scanner. It doesn't do CDRs at all in terms of anything meaningful. Can't do DL with jitter, in fact slow the speed down & it can't even do DL without jitter. Stops at layerbreak.
I have an idea what if there was a drive that could do all that. Well dear oh dear there already is & it's called BenQ.

Don't tell me. I have had an excellent 1640 as a 4163B.
THAT'S WHY I CAN'T FIND A GOOD DRIVE NO MORE!!!!

This is very good media for me. EMTEC are BASF and BASF was here before others have even born. Verbatim are not good media, EMTEC are not good media and you still think this is a good drive. So let some company build media only for 203B.

I've tested 10 -R and 10 +R media, some very good media and some not so good media with the SH-S203B and every single burn has been well within specification.

Also tested many CD-R, again all excellent.

DVD+R DL 16x media, 8x and 2.4x again very good.
DVD-R DL 8x and 4x, again very good.

DVD-RW and DVD+RW, again no problems.

Either your drive is faulty, or your scanning drive is not giving meaningful results, or your media is indeed very bad.

No need to say sorry.
If the drive is not working correctly, return it for replacement.

The problem is it's working fine. I don't believe this is a good drive. Anyway it will still be mine but it will go to shelf. Maybe with a future firmware it will be better. I can't trust it for archiving serious films of mine or projects I am doing for others. Of course neither Lite on. I need a better one. What do you think about 62N versus 212D?

The Pioneer 112 series is the best drive IMO, for handling less than good media.

I like the 112L a lot, too. It's my go-to burner @ 8-12x for stuff that needs to be written well and play without skips.

Erik added a new registry setting to CDSpeed that lets you choose the speed of the jitter pass when scanning with Liteys (the scanners ), so I tried it out. Seems to work as advertised. 16x scan, 4x jitter pass. This just extended my Litey's lease on life.

Verbatim branded (MIS) MKM001@MKM003 burned with ImgBurn at 8x.
Scanned with BenQ DW1640 at 4x speed 1ECC.
Old movie backup (Troy) so please don't mind the date.
Edit. Ooops, almost forgot the mandatory Transfer Rate Test. Late here.

if the jitter is 10 or less at 20x..that is great..my 20x burns jitter hits 11%

my 18x burns are hitting 10% jitter at 2.5gb mark...and right at theend hit 10.8%..I just watched an 18x burn with these characteristics and it had no skips
