Try the new Intel 7.6.0.1011 drivers now out as of 2nd Aug.

With this lastest version I was able to AHCI port back to AUTO and the drive is working as well as when the port was set to NOT INSTALLED

I have to say I love this drive
It can burn my Sony D21 at 16x(all my other drivers can only burn these at 8x..well there all gone..) with QS of 84-90
Sony 16D1 16x @18x(my LG can only do these at 8x with good QS)

First MCC004 MIT at 20x..but burn time was not as fast as others...alot PIE but PIF(impressive)

why use the Samsung for scanning..tends to tougher with errors

Interesting how different drives see the very same disc. That's the reason why we never can compare scans from different drives.

Anyway, I'll add some scans to this confusion...CMC.MAG-AM3 burned at 16x on SH-S203B default write strategy.

It couldn't maintain 16x on the 2nd layer (the scan shows why).
