| I have 4 dvds made with no errors, 2 verbatim 16X at 12X and 2 fugicrappers(fugiflim) 8X at 8X. my first 4 gave errors on nero, I then changed sata connections it was on the via vt6421a card and the sata 2 connection on the mobo (asrock sata 2) tried 2 verbatims at 16X and 2 then 2 fugis at 8X all where blahg,I got 1 verbatim to go at 16X so far tho. what do you want because only the fugis are at 8X the verbatim might be 12 or 16 X...or I can always do another disc. |
| Try using Imgburn instead of Nero to burn your dvd media.

| Hi, I suspect, there is some issue with the controller (or its driver) you are using to operate your drive. Make sure, the controller your optical drive is connected to, is not set to RAID or AHCI. Also, try to run the controller without drivers from the manufacturer (exception: VIA SATA controllers, there you should install the latest drivers from viaarena.com) Michael

| I didn't mean it that way. When building or purchasing a pc you need to have it setup/build to your needs. Both hardware and software. |

Plus you always run into nuances with "compatible" hardware,oh the horrors of a sata on some older NF chipsets, or worse yet the HDD mobo issue where you have to jump it on the fly or simply remove the jumper....I kinda miss the jumpers...sata needs a hardware based compatible/mode switch so you can force the wonky PnP to behave.... Pnp is at best 90% you can always find something that dose not like something else. BTW know a good IDE/sata card? |

| get a cheap pci sata controller card from geeks.com for $20.99. http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?inv...114-4R&cat=CCD Most newer motherboards will only offer 1 ide connection which is why it would be best to get a sata hard drive then you can use that 1 ide connection for your optical drives.
