No issues that I could really see w/mine except the slow lead in and not so steady write speed, but heard from others different burners were like that as well and really not an issue.

So if you're happy with your drive, then just stick with the firmware you have at the moment. Also, opinions are mixed regarding the 203B: some people think SB01 was better, others prefer SB03.

Hi mciahel. I know, read and heard many takes on staying w/the firmware if no real issues and updating irregardless as the mere fact that there's an update kinda states there was something buggy. What's your take if I may ask?

Also the FAQ you suggested is concerning this thread in this forum, or is it FAQ'S regarding the whole CDFREAKS site? Thnx.

I was referring to the Samsung Mini-FAQ (see my signature) and to the general FAQ for optical drives.
The CDfreaks Forum FAQ deals with the usage of the forum only.

Hi mciahel. Everything went smooth after reading the mini faq here and the how to upgrade samsung firmware guide you posted. Very simple. Just had to go into IE to download the firmware and 1 step .exe.

Any idea when firefox will be able to support these firmwares if in fact they will some day?

Maybe when they fire their "webmaster" and have redesigned their website

The only download source that is working with Firefox or Opera is their korean website. They seem to have forgotten to have this part rendered useless also

I hear you mciahel. I tried that global site thinking it was operable and nothing. Wonder if samsung has something going on w/microsoft and billy boy? Would make sense to have firefox on board seeing that as far as I know from my experience and others that they prefer firefox.

Let me tell you these threads are a necessity. Glad I was pointed here by another fellow member because I was trying every which way to get that firmware. Well let's hope for the best after billy and his goon squad snatch yahoo. Not that I use IE or yahoo but it has to produce some effect.
