Ricoh Dual Layer Media (RicohJPN D01)

How do the Samsung drives handle this type of Dual Layer media.

Datawrite DVD+R DL 8x burned at 8x ( RICOHJPN D01 )

Just to tell you the truth I really don't believe any drive on the market right
now handles RicohJPN D01 that well and even if they do get a decent burn
from the RicohJPN D01 I still wouldn't trust it for any important data. I'd have
to say do yourself a favor and get some Verbatim MKM003 instead and save
yourself a lot of headaches later on.

Hmm their has to be a drive out their that handles this media well i mean its been out for a while, in various brands.

Some seem to handle one manufacturer of it well, but there has to be at least 3 different countries of origin.

The problem is, 70% of the media with this media code is faked China manufactured low quality media. I'm pretty sure that Ricoh branded media would work quite nice.

Yes many may be fake but Datawrite branded Dual Layer Media probably isnt fake as they are pretty well known brand are they not. Infiniti / Datawrite / Mirror (Hmm) / RiDisc / Aone (hmm)

Are many of the brands that use the Ricoh disc brand but i cant see them all using fake media.

I don't know for sure, but I think I've read the Datawrite Ricohs are fakes.

Please post the codes on the disc

RiDisc - No idea, but since they come from same company as Datawrite I'd say - fake.
Aone - fake.

The Pioneer is surely a better burner for DL. Besides I have burnt that disc at 8x.

Very interesting price.

Genuine Ricoh DVD+R DL is very decent, but it got a bad reputation by all that fakes.

Very good burn Womi, the best I've seen for a Ricoh DL. Do you know if my Kodak is a genuine Ricoh? I think it's not a fake.

A lot of the manufacturers you quoted have been known to use RITEK media, so Datawrite, Ridisc, and Imation are almost definitely off the "FAKE" list.

What you need to do is look around the clear plastic centre hubs of the discs. If you see dark black codes printed on them like on RITEK DVD-R and DVD+R, then you're pretty much in the clear.
