I have both the SH-203B and the SH-202J I was the impression that they were the same drive ,except for the interface. So far I'm totally wrong then it come to performance. THe 203B is working

I have both the SH-203B and the SH-202J I was the impression that they were the same drive ,except for the interface.
So far I'm totally wrong then it come to performance.
THe 203B is working quite well, but the 202J is not working with any media that I have tested.
I have not had any success with the Ritek S04-66 DL media, but I suspect that it might be do to the fact that I can't update to the newer SB01 firmware. My OEM code does not match the firmware released by Samsung.

Perhaps a bad drive? Or you connected it to a crappy IDE controller. Please provide more details.

At the moment, the only DL media that can be trusted is Verbatim.

This is a known issue with some SATA controllers. Please have a look into the FAQ to read more about this.
