Problems with Samsung Website (Split from:Free software upgrades from Samsung)

I just bought a samsung SE-S184 DVD burner and everytime I try to update the firmware it leads me to download "application/octet-stream." What in the world is this? The burner does not recognize that I inserted a disc. Help please. I am 2 steps away from returning it to Micro center. They are a fee based support group anyway and I am pretty well pissed right now.

Probably misconfiguration of the Samsung webserver or some issue with your browser. Try either www.samsungodd.com or www.samsungoms.com

This is not a problem that can be resolved by newer firmware.

Agreed, both sites work just fine for me in Firefox.

Need a popup blocker to get the page other wise it gives you a file to download
