Using MCSE to switch write strategies. Most results are not good. MBI 03RG40 seems to work better than the others

The original TS-H652M 0414 used CAV for writing the RITEK at 40X instead of P-CAV used by the SPD6002T P1.3 shown above

My pleasure, vroom.
The Samsung 182 and 20x series are good cd writers. It's a pity to see the 223 joins the rest of the new crops of burners in neglecting the CD-R writing function.

these Philips guys made a totally different drive from 182 hardware. I have also the impression that the Philips firmware supports UDMA4, but I haven't checked since my drive is installed in an USB enclosure. In case your drive is installed internally, could you have a look?

Another question: you are running HP OEM firmware. Did they fix the lead-in problem?

cheers, Michael

@mciahel

It's still udma2, the udma4 is from my 7173.

IIRC, the big lead-in gap was still present for -R burns with the TS-H652M 0414.

The SPD6002T is still UDMA2 as vroom has posted earlier. My burst rate result

Thanks
I had the impression that the performance is much better with Philips than with Samsung firmware. The drive is installed in an enclosure with Cypress AT2 chipset.

cheers,
Michael
