Here is the all in one for the samsung 203n. Riplock removed, auto bitsetting, region free, FR/FB as well. All you have to do is unzip it run the exe that is in the folder direct the exe to the .bin file flash your drive and that's it.

Let me add I used this and several of my friends as well and all is good with this firmware tweak, but I will not hold any responsibility if you brick your drive another words use this at your own risk.

Version: v3.0.0 (9 May 2008)
* Now supports 18x drives including the Sony DRU-830A
* New "Increase SL read speed" patch for 18x drives
* New "Increase DL read speed" patch for 18x drives
* New "Retain book type after eject" patch for 18x drives
* New "Default book type DVD-ROM" patch for 18x drives
* New "RPC1 (Region free)" patch for 18x, 20x and 22x drives
* Fixed a 22x firmware issue. Please use this version for 22x firmware patching.

Should this support the SH-S183A?

The reason I ask is I get an error 1003 when attempting to open the SH-S183A_SB03.bin firmware.

I checked a few other files and had no problem opening SH-S182D_SB06.bin, SH-S202H_SB00.bin or SH-S203B_SB01.bin firmwares.

Thanks mankmeister. I don't have any 183 or 184 firmware. I'll do some tests when I can get the firmware. Samsung's download centre appears to be offline at the moment...

Thanks mankmeister. Good to see DVD-R works well in the S183A. I notice it has a better burst rate than the S182D.

Dont know if this is a real problem or not but after the patch DVDinfo no longer shows write speed descriptions on blank media. Disk burned seem to have problems showing disk info in DVDinfo even when put in a different burner. I'm using 182M with all checked except region-free.

It doesnt seem to be a problem with other programs and DVDinfo worked properly before the patch firmware.

Dont know if this is a real problem or not but after the patch DVDinfo no longer shows write speed descriptions on blank media. Disk burned seem to have problems showing disk info in DVDinfo even when put in a different burner.
I would not expect DVD Info Pro to show the same behaviour even with a different drive, unless there is a software issue, that is unrelated to the patched firmware you are using.
