i just got the patch utility 3.4.8 and the Samsung SH-S223F which

came with stock SB03.

So when Official downloaded firmware (SB03) is loaded in the patch utility it shows "TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223F SB03 1219

wondering wut is dis >1219< thing

i just want the Enhanced OPC to b enabled thru this patch utility.

So is it safe to modify the official firmware(SB03 1219) (wid--> E OPC) and flash my

drive with the patched firmwire?

Sory for asking such a noob question.

I'm here but I shouldn't be, because it's very late.

All of the patches are safe. Thousands of people are using them now. I use all of the patches in my 223F. My favourites are 18x read, remove video riplock, and EOPC.

I don't know what the number stands for. Perhaps a firmware build number or a date.

Since you have the SH-S223F drive, you can check the corresponding thread. You'll find many results there, for all fw versions (SB00/1/2/3), with and without EOPC

Nothing has changed with the patches. Only the software to apply the patches to the firmware has been modified.

I`m use Samsung patch v.3.4.8 on firmware SB01 from a Samsung SH-S223B drive. And after loading firmware to a patcher, not have open all checkboxes in comparison with a firmware from a Samsung SH-S223F drive.

It can be corrected ?

Where can I obtain the SB03 bin file for a SH-S223Q so I can use the patch utility. Also where can I get the latest flash utility to flash the drive once its patched.

You use a utility called 7zip to take the firmware you download from samsung site and unpack it - it will make the bin file to load into the patcher and also produce the flashing tool both in a seperate folder.

Hihi!

Many thanks to CodeKing for coming up with this great patcher.

Please forgive me for asking a noob question.

Ok I have flashed the patched firmware already. My main concern is the RPC1 feature. How can I make sure it works already without having to test the discs? When I set the region in the Device Manager, the counter reduces by 1. Is that normal?

Hi Kiwi8. Sorry for the late reply.

The RPC1 patch allows you to play discs from different regions, in your drive, without having to change the drive's region setting. It doesn't stop the counter from decrementing, if you do change the region.
