A hex comparison of the two "autorun.bin" files showed the significant difference. What the difference between the two versions? P.S. C0deKing's firmware seems to be based on the KOR version. Because hex comparison shows the mod is more similar to the KOR version than to the ENG version. Last edited by mciahel; 19-10-2007 at 10:46. Reason: Merged posts |

| Hi, this is a really interesting question. I agree, this wasn't already asked if I remember correctly. My guess: different media support and/or region settings or even some other restriction applicable in Korea or worldwide. At least if there is different media support can be easily checked with MCSE. | Don't think it's that complicated... All the basics like burn strategies are exactly the same. What differs are some bits like "errors" message that are language dependent. BTW, md5checksum [link in my sig] is a great tool to compare files. (Although here I also used IDA Pro 5, link.) Quote:

| Thank you for checking this. I will go with the ENG version. |
| Could someone explain me how to update the fw? I've downloaded the SH-S203B_SB01.exe but when I run it, there's no .bin file chosen and the samsung site doesn't seem to have any link to download it. Thx. _______ Sorry... found it finally. |
| Dead here too, only the KOR version works for me too......WHY? |
| Hi,Maybe some hicckup of a Samsung server. Have you tried the several links given in the FAQ? Michael

| Same here when trying the ENG version a week ago. I resorted to using Samsung's LiveUpdate program to update the firmware to SB01. |

Been there, still the program opens and it shows my liteon drive then i click on the 203 and nothing happens, only one is the KOR version that will work, why dont they just use a .bin file and a flasher like everyone else?! Also i've noticed when burning the drive starts burning is real loud and noisey, then it slows down at around 55% and finishes the burn, didn't do that before! anyone have the .bin file? |
| Hi, Quote:
After having selected your Samsung drive, you have to klick on the "open firmware file" button on the upper left corner of the window. You should be offered to select the firmware file (Autorun.bin) then. Next step would be to load the firmware to the drive. Basically, this is the same way as with the earlier flasher+.bin method.
