This kernel makes almost all my DVD burns fail with verification failure. It usually happens right after 80% of verification.

So I would try to avoid that kernel if you're using Jaunty. I wrecked 6 Taiyo Yuden discs which have never been a problem until now.

The previous kernel vmlinuz-2.6.28-7-generic works fine.

Is this a known problem?

The kernel even outputs a call trace in dmesg so it looks serious.

I don't have the nvidia-driver installed on this kernel currently. Maybe It's related?

The problem started about the time when I started burning from my WD MyBook 1TB but I'm starting to think it is kernel afterall because I upgraded my kernel at about the same time. I currently use firewire and it reads at least at about 40MB/s so I think it should be enough as 20x burning need just under 30MB/s.

See attachment of dmesg.

I installed the nvidia-drivers 180.35 for the working kernel and it turned out to stop working. The previous non working kernel had the 180.35 drivers installed as well. Both Brasero and Nerolinux are now failing. I checked the disc in another computer with the same writer and I get input/output error when using the md5sum application.
