Nero doesn't start

Nero Linux Discuss, Nero doesn't start at Nero & InCD forum; Hey, I just found out that Nero has a linux counterpart so decided to install that on my gentoo linux system running kernel 2.6.24-r7. When I try running nero I see the splash screen for a split second and then the program exits. Here's the error message I'm getting: Code:

Hey,

I just found out that Nero has a linux counterpart so decided to install that on my gentoo linux system running kernel 2.6.24-r7. When I try running nero I see the splash screen for a split second and then the program exits.

Had the same problem on my Gentoo system. Fixed it by starting hald:

code:
/etc/init.d/hald start

and adding to startup

code:
rc-update add hald default
