My LVW-5005X just stopped functioning.. It doesn't read, write, format or finalize. Do you think a new drive will do it good? Thank you.

Hello,
Would you please direct me to a thread about replacing a drive in a lite-on recorder. My LVW-5005X just stopped functioning.. It doesn't read, write, format or finalize. Do you think a new drive will do it good? Thank you.

Did you clean the lens ?

I cleaned the lens, using Maxwell CD Lens Cleaner. It only plays Audio CD. It freezes when playing DVD. Do you know why? Thank you.

Don't forget that the 5005X is not the same case as the 5005... (it's actually a rebadged ILO DVDR04). It looks like this: http://www.techolio.com/forums/phpBB...php?f=7&t=2723 has some useful information (that board has more ILO stuff than here).

I put the burner on top. Didn't want to take the time to mount it in the case. I have 2 LVW-5005X recorders.
