Do I use a cleaning disc and, if so, what brand is recommended? Or do I use a cotton swab. If so, with alcohol or what on it? And if I have to get into the unit to clean the lens, any place where that process is described? Thanks! Bill |

| CD/DVD lens cleaners as well as CD/DVD cleaners are usually sold where DVD media is sold in brick and mortar stores as well as on the internet. |

The first type is quite rare now as many players are very quick to reject these since the disc contains no readable content. The 2nd type is fairly common and the disc type is recognisable by looking out for cleaning discs containing audible instructions. I don't think brand name really matters as the all do pretty much the same job. If you are willing to open your player to gain access to the laser lens, I would recommend just using a dry cotton swab. If you use liquids, there is a very good chance of smearing the lens or leaving a residue on it. This obviously ain't good for the lens!
