Copying unfinalized 5XXX DVD's

| I just upgraded to the full version of Nero from my OEM version to 6.6.0.16 . There was something in the release notes that it copies open VR DVD's. So I went to the Burning Rom and did a DVD copy on the fly of an unfinalized DVD from my 5005 and it worked !!! It copied it and left it unfinalized. I put it in my 5005 and finalized it !!!! It plays......YYYYIIIPPPPEEEE !!! There was a box that said "close VR Disc" or something like that. I tried it on the one I made the copy from but it did not work. I'm still playing with the full blown version and I'll keep ya posted. Any body else try this? |

| Latest version 21 free trial (one week ago) just to help someone out with a problem. I never use Nero so went anound in circles for some time Can't remember now think I just burned the saved file to a +R and it played. must have finalized in the burn process? as She just wanted to recover the file not save the disk. | Iso Buster (free from google) will copy unfinalized disks as well. About 50% of the time the files have been garbled for me but I have always thought this was because the disk had failed during the burn==ie, a good disk should be copied while a failed disk "might" be copied. Usually, ISo Buster just "sees" and creates one large tao file and I used womble vcr to find and edit the individual shows. Nice program to use==recovers what many others wont.///bobbo. |

| Imkidd- - really? Thats good to know. The whole point of the "free" program is to show you what the paid can do???? But here the free program is "marginal" at things it ought to do better?? Don't Know==I sent tech help several emails about the fact that my files get recovered a bit garbled to the point of being unusable and the tech help turns out to be the guy who wrote the program!!!--he says his program recovers "exactly what is there." My gut tells me this isn't quite right but I don't know enough to be firm about it. I use the program so much anyway, think I will buy it and see if that actually gets me better recoveries. Thanks. |
