I got 5 x 10pc. spindles Fuji TY T02 at Media Markt Antwerp a couple years ago and I'm still a poor man . Have only used 2 or 3 discs so far, last one here - funny purple colour. Added some from Media Markt Aachen, but being 5pc. JC boxes they weren't cheap either, even at German prices . Only retail TY I see now is Verbatim 16X (picked up the last two Panasonic 25pc. spindles a couple weeks ago ).

Nice, Cressida! I've only used a few of my Sony T02 s as well (miscounted, it's just under 100, forgot a 25 pcs spindle LOL).

Same here, I only see the 16x Verb TYs now...even the Verbie Extra Protection TY CDRs are nowhere to be seen!

Just got my new notebook, a Dell Vostro 1500.
2 GHz Dual Core Intel CPU, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD and XP Pro.

Seems to be very quiet (apart from the HDD) and a magnet for fingerprints

Optical drive is a Samsung TS-L632H, DVD-RAM capability is crippled by Dell OEM firmware Interesting: There are still entries of DVD-RAM discs present in the firmware.
The Roxio software provided is *cough* a recommendation to uninstall and get something else Additionally, tons of ads are loaded from the internet
Fortunately, I have a bunch of Nero discs, I only have to find them And there is ImgBurn

Seagate external USB2/FireWire 750 GB HDD (ST3750640CB-RK), knocked down at nearby Maplin for 99 GBP. Despite being an older model, it's a single drive inside and I'm sure SATA internal interface... got great previous reviews and is whisper quiet in action.

I just bought a 25 pack of fake RicohD00s, probably made in Hong Kong.

Most likely they are absolute crap, but I just couldnt resist at that price.

~0,59€ a disc! - thats about 0,90$

A Philips CDRW 1610 (same as pictured, only 1600 in stead of 1200 Series). I suddently realised I didn't have a CD drive from the inventor of the CD when I found this one on sale for €8,- . Manufactured February 2002, still sealed in the anti-static bag.

Hehe, those older Philips drives always looked really cool. My CDD 3610 looked pretty nice too, with an orange and a green LED (which, when burning, would aternately light). Nice find

Yep, I could have gone for a faster Samsung, BenQ or BTC at the same price, but they all looked bland in comparison .

Also, I just crossflahed an HP CDWriter+ 9100i to 9300i - now it can burn CD's at 10x in stead of 8x . Found good info on CDFreaks.com for this .

Some Sketchers sneakers [US size 16 ], a bit of an outfit for prom [shirt, pants, tie], and my dad virtually gave me all leftover change [I think I got around 70 dollars ]. I'm a happy boy.

I recently got a pentax dslr for 275$ with 18-55 kit lens (new but old stock, about a 3 year old model). The nice thing is that it was an authorized dealer so its got the full 1yr warranty manufactures warranty. I also got a pentax 80-200 lens for 50$ (an old film lens so 120mm-300mm equivalent, also new but old stock).

I have been trying to refrain from buying media to burn through some old stuff and have actually been managing to fight the buying addiction (and managed to burn through a few hundred old 4x disks).

Well it seems that I can't get no satisfaction when it comes to researching SATA optical disc drives. So to day I bought a Samsung SH-202J and a Pioneer DVR-115D. I also am going to retire all of my floppy drives, since I haven't used them in years, so I bought four 5 1/4" bay S-Link multifunction panels. Now all of my Plextor and BenQ drives have two new playmates. I also put Vista Ultimate 64 bit on my test PC and Vista Ultimate 32 bit on my main PC. Of course they are on HD's that are running as slaves. I will be using XP Pro for my basic OS for a few more years, or until I get one of Linux OS to do everything that windows does, including using all of the hardware and software. I am getting close. The fun never stops.

A brand new PLEXTOR PX-760A/T4. I just bought it today in Akihabara.
This one is a re-import and comes in a different package than the JP version. Software is a lttle different from JP version too since it contains NERO6 etc as in the US/European version. The drive is Made in China September 2006 and TLA is #0104.
Bought it as spare for my PX-760A.

I got 10 discs of each of the following @ RiteAid...

Maxell-branded:
4x DVD-R made in Japan [MXL RG02]
4x DVD+R made in Taiwan [RITEK R02]

FujiFilm-branded:
4x DVD+R made in Taiwan [RICOHJPN R01]
8x DVD+R made in Japan [YUDEN000 T02]
8x DVD-R made in Japan [TYG02]

I saw some TDK 16x DVD-R made in India, but I don't want any TTH02 right now.
