The interesting thing about the latest TomTom's is the mapshare idea.
I have had daily updates since purchasing over a month ago.
I looked at both TomTom and Garmin GPS Navigators, but I found the Garmin product range to be confusing (too many model numbers with no clear relation as to which is better in which way) while the TomTom product range was easy to understand and logical in which model can do what.

I also think Mapshare is a really good idea, and I've been enterning some missing information into my new TomTom.

The "DEMO" mode in TomTom is brilliant; it allows you to practice using the navigator while staying safely at home and see how it behaves on simulates trips. This makes it possible to get comfortable with how it works before having to use it in actual traffic.

I also like how the TomTom can be operated from my computer when it's attached.

You should have asked us first

My advice for all roxio software is to .. uninstall, delete remaining files where necessary ... break the CD/DVD in half & burn the box, CD/DVD fragments & manuals in the fireplace.

Of course, if you paid for it, take it back & get a refund ... but if you can't .. then see above.

Hehe, luckily Porker was able to return it. I can only imagine how many were NOT as lucky...

I still use EMC 7.5 and have no problem with it, however 10 is a different story. When I returned it (EMC 10), for a refund, I went loaded with a list of problems and Screen Shots to prove my points. I didn't even get through the first page of notes and had only shown them 5 - 6 screen shots and they were handing me my money back!

I still use EMC 6 (Creator Classic and Disc Copier) on two PC's in the family, one with a Plextor PX-755A and the other with a Samsung SH-S182M. Super clean interface and very easy to use for someone who's not into PC's and just wants to get something on disc (much more so than Nero 5 or 6 were at the time). Versions 7 and above I don't care for any more, with their Sonic/Roxio mish-mash.

If I could get ECDC 6 to cooperate with iTunes, I would have it installed. Alas, I choose iTunes not bugging me every time it starts over using the simple [if not too simple] interface of Roxio.

I have some version of OEM Easy Media Creator on my laptop....might as well just give me Sonic RecordNow!...

There's a hacked DLL with selectable write speeds for unrecognized drives, but something tells me even that won't change your mind about using it

I have a feeling you're right about me not using it again.

My know of a couple of people using the GO 720 and they love it. I've also heard great things about the GO 920, including that it can save you on gas prices (http://www.clubtomtom.com/general/pay-less-at-the-pump/) Mapshare won a CES award and I've heard good things about it as well. I've been using an older TomTom, probably time for me to upgrade.

No!!!!! You are one of my favorite frequent computer toy buyers.

EDIT: I kinda agree with Alan below me. I believe you have will power, but I believe that 4 years of no goodies would mess a lot of us up.

I love life...Yeah, I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It's like...It makes me feel alive, you know. It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling is like a beautiful sadness.

Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman, before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into air.

I am so glad that GWB's 8 year COD game is finally over.

But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while saying it.
