haha funny you should say that, I was thinking of doing something similar with it.

I will for sure be cutting some holes in the Motherboard tray to route wires so it is clean inside and seeing I have another good PC I can take my time and do it right.

Took a risk today in maplin's and bought the last 5 pack of TDK +R x8 discs, bought them because the design of the case and the rapping was the same as the TY TDK's i got in poundland and my risk payed off as they are indeed T02's.

Bit pricey for my likeing at £4.99 for a 5 pack but then again maplins aint the cheapest of place's about.

Can I ask you guys for some shopping help? (being the recognised CDF consumers )
I think I'm finally going to buy an MP3 player. Doing all this travelling without a small music player is driving me nuts (currently I just use the notebook to play music and battery life of 4 hours on a 30 hour journey isn't cutting it).

Anyone have any comments or advice about which ones are good / bad? What size is best? What features you've found good from experience?
I have a lot of music, so probably need quite a good memory size, although I'm not bothered about video.

I'm going to get one from Future Shop Canada - it has to be from this store as I have loads of gift cards from trading in airmiles
They seem to do iPod, Creative, SanDisk etc.

i dont mean to excersise my dark sence of humor but I would DEFINITELY consider this.http://www.infonec.com/site/main.php...tail&id=192468 Its the most feature packed player, gets good reviews, tiny and most important (to me) has great specs and plays FLAC

personaly i own an old flash creative player (with detachable usb stick) and happy with it so far

Very nice, only a bit more expensive than MAXELL003 5-packs in Asda, so I'd pay that for a 5-pack of T02

Looks nice.... not available from Future Shop as far as I can tell tho
I'm only getting one by trading in air miles vouchers (since I'm mostly going to use it for work traveling anyway).

Another though here.... does anyone know if any / some portable music players are compatible with Linux? Looking at the Creative ones they specify Win XP only and aren't Mac compatible. No mention of linux anywhere.
