| My 2500 went down, think it was a laser issue. So I call Newegg and they said that I had a 1 year warranty on it. So I'm like HELL YEAH!! So I get my RMA# and package it up to be sent. I go to the post office, since it's closer to my job, and ship the thing priority mail and get a tracking # for it. So the freaking thing costs $10 bucks to send back, but it's cheaper than $70 if I don't have too. So I've been on the net using their tracking device to see when it's going to make it to California. And there's nothing showing all day Tuesday or Wednesday. So yesterday afternoon I go on to check, AND THE FREAKING THING WAS DELIVERED TO MY HOUSE!! I go home and the S$#! is on my couch. So I get on the phone and call USPS, and the guy from customer service is actually eating while he's talking to me on the phone. I'm furious. Then he says that there is nothing that he can do. They put a sticker over the address where it was to be sent saying that all packages over 16 ounces needed to be handled by a usps clerk. How in the hell do those idiots think I got a tracking number on the box. They don't have them laying on the street, so I can just pick one up and stick it on the box. So I go to the PO where I shipped it, I get there and I swear the clerk had to be at least 85 years old. My day really can't be this bad at 9:00 in the morning. SO she looks at the box and says that there is nothing wrong with except that one side was crushed from delivery. She said that it was ridiculous what they had done. So she made a few phone calls and it is be sent out again this afternoon. I think that if it arrives at my house again, stay tuned to NBC or CNN. MORAL: Don't use the USPS!!!

| This is driving me crazy. First of all, when my 2500 went down, I didn't know that I had a warranty, so I was on their website, had a brand new 2510 in my cart and all I had to do was hit the button that would finish the deal at newegg. Then something made me call them and ALAS, I get an RMA#. Then this shit happens, then to top it all off, my girlfriend left me last night. That might be a good thing but I don't think things can get any worse than this. Except for that poor lizard. But how stupid can they can be about shipping a freaking package?

| USPS doesn't offer tracking on Priority Mail, only Delivery Confirmation, which is, well, just that, Delivery Confirmation. Also, you can print your own shipping label with delivery confirmation from home, and affix a postage stamp in the correct amount. Also, see Fed Ex Sucks Last edited by aviationwiz; 29-08-2004 at 02:32. |
| yes they do. it was an xtra whopping $.45. she said that it doesn't come with it but i can add it on. an official usps teller gave me the tracking # and affixed it to the box. thank God i kept my receipt and the other end of the tracking # sheet.

| If they sold it to you as "tracking" then that is false advertising. Every postal employee interprets everything differently, that is why there are so many problems, in reality though, it is really quite simple once you take the time to learn all the regulations (as I have.) For consumers, Tracking is availible on: Express Mail Global Express Guaranteed Global Express Mail Delivery Confirmation on: First-Class Mail Parcels Priority Mail Media Mail Parcel Post That's availible just by going to the Track & Confirm section of the USPS site. |
| DELIVERY CONFIRMATION is free if you buy and print the priority parcel lable from USPS online. Man, the people in my post office must be geniuses, 'cause they've never lost a package I sent or received. |
| Doh! Again, Delivery Confirmation *IS NOT* Tracking! From one of my shipping boards: "DC is NOT tracking!!!!!!!!! UPS offers tracking. A package is scanned upon pick-up, arrival at shipping hubs (multiple hubs mean multiple scans) and at delivery. DC simply shows when your package was delivered (date and time). Calling it tracking is misleading and confusing to your customers. A buyer can't track their order with DC." |

They said that the there was a mixup with them thinking that I possibly had it printed out from home and attached my own postage to it. But where the problem came in was because of security issues. They stated that since the package was over 16 ounces, it needed to be handled by a mail clerk. It was handled by a clerk and had the correct postage affixed to it. The problem came in where at the particular post office where this was mailed from, the meter was broken. So with the package just having stamps on it, they presumed that it had not been checked by someone in the po. So when I returned it to the po, their meter machine was broken and it had to be sent to another po that had one working. and the package should be delivered now because it has the meter reading on it. They also said that if it was under 2 lbs, that there would have been no problem. But now since we have all of the security issues, that's where the problem came into affect.
