How much is petrol/diesel where you live?

Here the pumps measure in litres and price in Euros, but feel free to post in gallons or kWh (if electric) also and your local currency.

Here Diesel is roughly €1.489 a litre and regular Petrol is €1.599 a litre.

Here in the Pacific North-West we've had some of the highest prices in the US. After raising the price nearly a dollar a gallon(!) they've finally offered some 'relief'...They dropped the prices a whole fifty cents, hoping we don't notice that it's still a fifty cent increase...And for some strange reason, Gasoline is cheaper than Diesel even though Diesel is less refined and it's summertime meaning less Diesel is being used as heating oil...Both are around $3.5 a gallon. Which, according to this calculator: http://www.wolframalpha.com/entities...iter/50/yh/v1/ , is about .75 euro to the litre.

I'll double-check tomorrow, but I think that was around the price of petrol here too, when I looked on Thursday.

Average mid-July prices:

Gasoline 1,892 KRW / Liter (About US$1.65)
Diesel 1,719 KRW / Liter (About US$1.5)
LPG 1,086 KRW / Liter (About US$0.95)

All numbers are rough approximations.
One USD = about 1,150 KRW.

In Germany, lo-cal petrol (10% ethanol) goes for about €1.55, while super is about 5 cents more per litre.

Filled my 60 litre (!) tank a few days ago...a close call

I've been travelling from Germany to France (and back) last weekend. Only looking at Diesel prices as that's what my car needs, I paid 1.379€ per litre on Thursday in Germany and 1.351€ per litre on Friday in France. But on the motorways I saw prices up to more then 1.50€

Fortunately I can manage between 800 and 1000 km with a full tank on my current car - hope my new car that I will get in two weeks manages the same. This way I'm usually able to wait for good prices as they can oscillate by more than 0.10€ at the same gas station during the day. You may also have these differences between different gas stations that are only a few km away.

Yeah ASDA is normally the cheapest but there are very few ASDAs here with petrol stations as most of their sites in Northern Ireland were taken over from another supermarket operator.

There's one about 10 miles away from here but the amount of petrol you'd use driving out there and back removes any advantage of the cheaper price.

We have an ASDA 24/7 here, so that is where I normally fill the tank.
I actually don't use a lot of fuel as I prefer to walk, and if we are going somewhere, hubby usually likes to drive his car, so we end up taking that.

First week of July we were on holiday, and a 300 mile drive lay ahead. Before we went I TOLD him we were taking my car.
I think the tank holds 60 litres, and we got there on half a tank. Although by the time we got there, I couldn't have cared less as I was so tired.

Usually one tank will do me for around two months, so it shows how much I drive. Come to think of, I think I noticed a few grey hairs on hubby when we got back, and I have no idea what the reason for that might be.

I envy the Western European prices. South Korea charges too little tax on petroleum products. I wish it were more like US$20 per liter instead of $1.5.

You know it's kind of strange to hear that as I've always thought that the UK is one of the dearest countries in the world for petrol.

Perhaps things aren't as quite as bad here as I'd thought.

The problems with gasoline and diesel and automobiles are:

1. Driving habits - there are 1.3 million expats and foreigners, but very few drive them ever.
2. Construction - walls and windows are not built with soundproofing in mind partly due to tradition, mentality, technology, etc.
3. Logistics - we need to import virtually all petroleum and gas, reducing energy consumption here can do true miracles.
4. Health - urban population density in many places reached about 15,000 per square kilometer a few decades ago, but nearly stopped there as birth rate is one of the lowest in the world while the number of smokers has quadrupled and car owners increased about 200 times since I was born.
5. Infrastructure - 80% of the population live in cities with enough mass-transportation infrastructure to transport everyone via subway and most of the rest can ride bus and railroad.

Unrelated, but alcohol beverages are also too cheap because it's little taxed. One minor problem is sometimes one third of subway passengers look obviously drunk, enough to hit the next person or do some kind of harassing. It's getting worse since subway's free for anyone from age 65 and people are supposed to worship even drunken old men (rarely women.)

LG Prada I and II phones were successful, but not the Prada III smartphone because consumer preference had changed in just few years (from European luxury brands to Silicon Valley luxury brand Apple, that is.) Chanel LPG and Benz diesel might do better. A few nanograms of gold in each liter will also help.
