Hi I am a new member with a major computer problem! My main interest other than the usual computer use is editing HD video and authoring disks. Recently I bought an entry level professional AVCHD video camera (.MTS files). I also update my desktop computer to handle MPEG 2 Blu-ray disk authoring. Specs are; Pioneer BDR207D ver 1.20 & LG B10LS30 ver 1.01 Blu-ray writers, Intel i5 2600, Gigabyte P67A-UD5-B3 motherboard, Win 7 64bit, SONY vegas movie studio platinum 11 HD, TMPGEnc Authoring works 4. Yes I am just an enthusiast not a pro. My problem starts when I get to the authoring stage and the software asks me to insert the media I wish to write to. I put in a Verbatim BD-R 6X printable disc and then after a few seconds a box comes up saying it is formatting a BD-RE and I can't stop it. The result is the disk is then rejected by the authoring software as being previously recorded on. I have created 5 coasters so far trying to resolve it. I went to Pegasys support and there best suggestion is to update the firmware on my drives but they are at the latest versions already. They deny it is anything to do with their software. One other twist is those disks can be written to in my home theatre Panasonic Blu-ray recorder / player no problem. I would much appreciate any help, thankyou.

Hi :)

Recently I am having a lot of issues with my crappy ISP. I get frequent disconnections, and when (or I should say if ) the modem is able to reconnect speed connection is lower than normal.

I already talked a lot of times with tech support, and yesterday a technician come to my home to check the line. After a lot of blah blah, it seemed that the problem was solved (the tech guy said that there was a defective component in the central, and they fixed it), but about 1 hour ago the problem started again, worst than before: 8 disconnections in 15 minutes

Of course, the n-th call to tech support produced no result. Probably tomorrow someone will check again the central (or whatever it is called the thing managing all adsl connections in my local zone), but I'm almost certain that this problem will be not fixed anytime soon :Z

I was able to notice the many consecutive disconnections because I was at the keyboard chatting with my brother via msn, and of course it was pretty difficult to make a conversation after so many disconnections :a but I'm curious to know exactly how the connection behave when I'm not at the keyboard. This will allow me to show the tech guy what exactly happen during the day, and that I'm not joking.

I need a tool (possibly freeware) that record a graph of all activity, so I can find exactly how many disconnections I get. There is something that can do this?

I already found some tools, like NetWorx, but even if it is very nice (and also portable, so no installation is required), it is not possible to record the graph.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance :)

I posted this on another site, but received no answer after several days.
Nowadays, I see that university libraries are rapidly eliminating the physical music CD and replacing with online streaming delivery. I was looking for a particular music cd and found that many university libraries carried the music only by online streaming delivery. As a test, I tried ABC University (fictitious name) library website to get a particular music cd. The website returned a message saying, "it is detected that you are off campus, please enter your student ID." Ok, since I am not a student, that was a dead end. I went on the campus, and tried again. (Many university campuses no longer allow non-students to use the computers, however, ABC allows non-students to use the library computer for one 2 hour session each day.) This time, I was able to get the streaming audio with no problem. I used the free software, Freecorder (able to install on the public university computer) and was able to record the stream into mp3.
My question is: with all this confusing info about IP spoofing, etc, might it be possible to receive the university audio streams, when I am off campus, without a student ID? How would I go about trying to do this?
For a good example, here is the actual website that corresponds to the music that I am talking about:
http://music.ohiolink.edu/handle/2374.MUSIC/3861
When you go on the ABC campus and go to the above website, you can listen to the music.

[newsimage]http://static.rankone.nl/images_posts/[/newsimage]According to researchers at TrendFocus, a 128GB SSD still accounts for roughly 25% of the BOM (build of materials) cost of an Ultrabook. With the development of thin 7mm 2.5" HDDs, TrendFocus predicts that Ultrabook manufacturers will use a large capacity 7mm 2.5" HDD coupled with a small mSATA to run as a cache for the SSD, to undercut with pure SSD Ultrabooks.
